We are a family and team of four: Dane (me), Lindsay, and the two motivators behind this all, our son Omri, and our girl Scout!
We started this from our Brooklyn garage with multiple side hustles that helped purchase our first roaster and first bag of green coffee. We devoted ourselves to serving our community and providing the best coffee we could. We dreamed, planned, prepped, saved, and planned some more.
There aren’t enough words to express how excited we are that you are here reading this, and that our coffee is out into the wild finding you. We want this to be woven into the fabric of our family’s DNA; for our children to see and encourage them, and others to seek purpose.
We never want this to be just a one man show, but a collective of all of us making a real and lasting impact with whatever sized platform we have, and doing it together!
about the coffee
We roast extremely high quality and ethically sourced coffee to the best of our capabilities. Not just throwing cliché phrases out there. We vow to make sure there is empowering change happening where our coffee is harvested and produced. We want to be certain people are being invested in and the coffee is given the specific attention it deserves. We meticulously micro-roast every batch to bring out the brightest and most vibrant characteristics of each coffee, allowing the unique tasting profile and original flavors to shine through.
community & culture
Without you, there is no City League. We want to honor that by giving you the best product we can, while making sure each customer and person we engage with knows they are important, welcomed, and loved. We believe true relationships and life change happens in the context of community and we want everyone to feel included and accepted, like a true community should. We want to serve others and gather relationships, and coffee is our vessel.
In addition, an ever-increasing percentage of our profits are invested directly back into the people of our local community. We love our neighborhood and the people in it. It has changed our lives and we owe it plenty. Steeped with culture, Sunset Park, Brooklyn is one of the most unique, diverse, tight-knit, old school communities left in Brooklyn. In a 6 block walk it can feel like you’ve visited three different countries. In the planning stages of this company, we were certain to always remember whatever position we are in is a chance to make a positive impact that is bigger than just us.
